Pre-School Programs at Hilham Elementary

The Language Development Class: This classroom is specifically designed to work with students with language and developmental delays. Along with typical preschool activities, students will receive small group and individualized instruction. Most students will have and IEP (Individual Educational Plan) and will receive instruction that follows his/her written goals.

Enrollment: Students must be 3 to 5 years of age. Once enrollment reaches it capacity, students will be put onto a waiting list.

Overton County Pre-K Class: This classroom is a county wide 4 year old inclusion class.

Voluntary Pre-K Class: This classroom is grant funded and licensed by the State Department of Education. The goal of the VPK classroom is to provide 4-year-old children with the learning experiences they need in order to succeed in kindergarten. The program will prepare children for school by providing an opportunity for them to develop school readiness skills in an environment that fosters the love and joy of learning. VPK will help children develop pre-academic and social skills that will help them in their educational career.

Enrollment: Students must turn 4 by August 15th. Children turning 5 on or before August 15th are not eligible for VPK. First priority for enrollment into the VPK are given to families that qualify as economically disadvantaged.
