Piggy Bank Pageant

The piggy bank pageant is for Pre-K to 12th graders who are either crafty or that you want to help teach saving money to.

Below you will find several documents. The Saving Smarts activity is a worksheet for older youth to use when setting goals while the Spender or Saver Quiz is a take-home activity that can teach youth about spending habits. The parent’s flyer that includes a note to parents that illustrates the importance of saving early. The pamphlet and parent letter spell out the guidelines for the contest.

 

Remember, this activity is not just for 4-Hers. We welcome classrooms, homeschool groups, and parents with any school age child to participate.

 

Our county deadline will be March 5th. To make submissions easy, parents or you can submit entries online or drop them off in person to our office.

There are two categories for winning in the state. For the county, we will choose 1 per age category to submit to the state contest. Awards are ribbons for the county contest.

 

State awards:

#1 Best of the Best

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be selected by staff and faculty of the UT Extension Family and Consumer Sciences department in Knoxville and receive a certificate and gift card.

#2 People’s Choice Award winners will be decided based on greatest number of online votes received at http://voteforthepig.tennessee.edu/. Winners will receive an award certificate.
